Christmas in the Guest House
Why not come and spend a memorable Christmas with us at the Bible College? We are offering a three- or four- day package, for travelers who do not want to be part of a tour group, but who would like to celebrate the birth of Our Lord in Bethlehem with a group of fellow Christians.
Arrive on December 23rd in good time to be ready for the celebrations in and around Manger Square that go on all day and night on Christmas Eve. Marching bands start playing through the streets from 10.00am. Manger Square is choc-a-block full of people. The Latin Patriarch arrives c 1.30pm. The Lutheran church has a lovely carol service at 4.00pm followed by a glass of wine. A concert starts in Manger Square from 5.00pm with different choirs from all over the world performing. (Bring a choir and sign up – use the platform to speak about Jesus!) . Last year one guest stayed in the Square till 5.00am talking and witnessing to people along with others. She said people were still milling around even then. There are thousands of people present enjoying the party atmosphere and the gospel message is put across.
Apply well in advance and you may get tickets for Midnight Mass in the Church of the Nativity. We can give you details. Last year quite a number of our guests were able to attend in the Catholic Church and in the actual grotto itself.
On Christmas Day, go to one of several nearby churches and then be ready for a full Christmas Dinner – turkey, Christmas pudding, the lot. At some point in the afternoon, we will go up onto the roof and look over Bethlehem and pray over all the landmarks that are visible, as well as play games and exchange small gifts.
On December 26th, those guests who opt for the 4 night package, there will be a half-day tour of the Bethlehem area taking you to places that the quick coach trips from Jerusalem never get to.
For three nights including bed, breakfast and a full Christmas Dinner, the cost will be $150 per person.
For four nights including bed, breakfast, the full Christmas Dinner and a half-day tour of Bethlehem, the cost will be $200 per person.
