Who We Are
Bethlehem was the setting for the biblical romance between Ruth and Boaz. It was the birthplace of their grandson, King David, who tended his flocks on the hills nearby and from his seed, Jesus the Messiah began his life among us.
The destination of pilgrims for thousands of years, Bethlehem still finds itself the focus of great attention. Only six miles south of Jerusalem, this beautiful town lies within the territory of the West Bank. Today's political unrest and conflict have left their mark on the communities in the area, bringing discouragement and hatred. In the midst of this there is still a sense of hope and a working towards peace.
Bethlehem Bible College is providing a powerful and much needed Christian witness in the community, and provides training for young native Arab Palestinians to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their own people. Founded in 1979 by local Arabs, the college usually enrolls 135 students who are interested in Christian service in the Middle East.
In September 1990, Bethlehem Bible College moved to its new home, the former Bible Lands Society buildings on Hebron Road. With additional classroom space and dormitories, we have been able to increase our enrollment and expand the ministry to which God has called us.
In 2007, we began an expansion program with the building of a new Student Centre. This will give the Bible College more facilities amd greater opportunities for academic development.
Visitors to the Holy Land are welcome to visit Bethlehem Bible College to meet and share with Christian Arabs who are dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ. We also welcome the support and prayers of our brothers and sisters around the world, who are committed to preserving the witness of Christ through the indigenous people of the Land of the Bible.
